The valley communities have been left behind for decades. Since the mines closed our economies have never truly recovered.

And now the pandemic has revealed how broken the welfare system is by leaving millions of people left behind without any support during the most difficult time the UK has seen in generations.

It’s time for a 21st century solution to 21st century problems. Universal Basic Income is that solution.

It will incentivise people to work because they will keep more of their earned income. And it will ensure that everyone has a safety net whenever the hard times hit home.
