What would life look like if everyone had a safe and sufficient income, no matter what? If people no longer had to survive on zero-hours work or go through the unfair system of conditional benefits? If we properly rewarded the work that unpaid carers do? If you had the space and time to devote to your community and family, or starting up your own business?
As recent months have shown more than ever before, we need a fairer and simpler approach to social support and our economy. UBI Lab Norfolk invites you to join a discussion with community activists and experts on how a Universal Basic Income (UBI) could offer a way forward out of this difficult time by providing every person a regular, unconditional income that is enough to live on.
We will be joined by:
Clive Lewis MP for Norwich South
Catherine Rowett, former MEP for the East of England
Linda C, disability rights and benefits activist, West Norfolk
Karen Black, Norwich small business founder & Peter Ellington, Lecturer at Norwich Business School
Michael Pugh, Co-Founder of the Basic Income Conversation with Compass
There will be plenty of time for Q&A and group discussion.
