Basic Income is the foundation we all need to tackle poverty, the mental health epidemic and the environmental crisis. It is the fertile ground from which struggling communities and economies can start to regrow. It is the support people need to gain the skills and education to re-engage with society and the future of work, so all four nations of the United Kingdom can flourish together.

We invite you to watch the supporting recordings from the briefing session - showcase how UBI can unlock potential within your constituencies and across the UK.

Now, more than ever, people are crying out for things to be different. Each of us feels the overwhelming pressures of the challenges we face; trapped in endless cycles of firefighting crisis-after-crisis with seemingly no way out!

We are all in this together, and whatever drives your motivation for change, we know nothing meaningful is possible without solid foundations to build from.

Jo Poulton

Jo is a new entrant organic vegetable grower based in Bristol and the Campaign Lead at Basic Income for Farmers (BI4FARMERS); a collective of farmers, growers and farmworkers advocating for a guaranteed Basic Income for all agricultural workers in the UK.

Dr Elliott Johnson

Elliott is a Vice Chancellor’s Fellow of Public Policy at Northumbria University, Secretary for the Basic Income Research Group, and Impact Lead for the Common Sense Policy Group whose Beveridge-style report Act Now presents a whole-government policy platform for national renewal.

He is best known for pioneering the development of Personal Budgets, for which work he was awarded the RSA’s Prince Albert Medal. Today his work is particularly focused on developing a strategy for neighbourhood care and governance in South Yorkshire.

Dr Patrick Brown

He is a former councillor and member of the Legislative Assembly in Northern Ireland, with a decade of experience in elected politics.
